The Process Engineer (Injection Moulding) will be responsible for developing and maintaining optimum parameters in the insert moulding process of seat belt components. The job holder will be running projects “start to finish”, improve and trouble shoot areas in the moulding department. The Process Engineer (Injection Molding) will coordinate process development activities to ensure good production and quality through problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
Your Tasks:
- Creation and monitoring of capacity, schedule, and cost plans for tools as well as their qualification
- Process optimization, scrap reduction, cycle time and tool change over time reduction
- Process development for plastic components, participation in APQP/PFMEA/PPAP
- Participation in cost calculation for offers and cost tracking during development (cycle times, tool capacities and costs)
- Designing injection molding tools and carrying out feasibility analyzes for new products / support in development.
- Review and support mold flow analysis to achieve optimum performance.
- Documentation change control process
- Good and clear communication with other departments, customers and suppliers
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, engineering change verification and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Must be experienced with Robotics and Programming, with End of Arm Set-up and troubleshooting, develop and modify robot programs to handle parts without causing damage to equipment/tooling
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Promote safety by abiding to all related policies and procedures
Your Profile:
- Successfully completed engineering degree or technician, preferably in the field of plastics technology
- 5-7 Years Injection Molding Processing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication and project management skills.
- Possess mathematical skills.
- Possess office skills such as Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and AS400 systems.
- Several years of professional experience in plastics technology and in the qualification of components, preferably in the automotive industry; Experience in Moldflow analysis is an advantage.
- Safety and environmental training and experience.
- Previous experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
- Troubleshooting ability is required
- Must have strong decision-making, problem-solving skills and mechanical ability
- Demonstrated good internal and external customer service skills
- Ability to multitask
- Experience with Arburg equipment a plus
