General Summary:
Ensure regulatory and environmental/safety requirements met through proper design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of systems. Manage environmental programs as assigned.
Your Tasks:
- Lead and participate in incident investigation, root cause analysis, assist in the formulation of corrective actions and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Prepare regulatory reports including Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Tier II, Biennial Report, etc.
- Develop environmental procedures and programs for site based on corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Interpret, communicate and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participates in recommending improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Develop EHS training materials and deliver both classroom and OJT safety training.
- Manage various EHS programs and projects.
- Develop and approve plans and permits for onsite projects.
- Seek to continuously improve EHS policies and programs
- Comprehensive knowledge of processes, policies and procedures in the following programs:
- Environmental
- Non-Title V Air Permit
- Hazardous Waste
- Waste Water
- ISO 14001
- Pollution and Spill Prevention
Your Profile:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong leadership skills. Ability to coordinate complex programs. Ability to manage people without direct supervisory authority.
- Requires technical Bachelor’s degree (engineering or science).
- Requires 2-5 plus years’ experience in EHS compliance or engineeriing with extensive environmental experience.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or chemical processing preferred.
- Experience working at a PSM covered facility and/or with energetic materials is desired. Experience with ISO14001 is desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have hand dexterity at moderate speed with accuracy for half of each day. Requires steady, active effort and continuous walking.
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work in all areas of the plant.
