Manager, SBS

Overall Purpose of Job:

• Overall lead regional engineering team
• Develop and maintain a strong team
• Responsible for resource planning  and budget.
• Lead each customer engineering group for projects execution meeting internal &customer expectation.
• Ensure each customer engineering group to achieve the internal technical release.
• Ensure each customer engineering group to achieve product release at the customer.
• Ensure effective communication and exchange of experience with global team

Major Responsibilities:

• Build up effective engineering team structure

• Performance evaluation and constructive feedback for subordinates

• Ensure acquisition engineering deliverables with correlation of core engineering to achieve business growth
• Develop and improve customer relationships and communication
• Build up relationship with other global engineering centre
• Improve discipline for overall engineering team to fulfil internal procedures
• Lead each customer engineering group for projects execution meeting internal &customer expectation.
• Ensure each customer engineering group to achieve the internal technical release.
• Ensure each customer engineering group to achieve product release at the customer.
• Ensure effective communication and exchange of experience with global team
• Lead local & global status management meeting from engineering perspective
• Lead internal cross function communication and improvement required.
• Lead engineering improvement plan with prototype and testing
• Applying of lessons learned / best practices for continuous improvement.

Key Competencies:

• Strong leadership and problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills/ communication skills
• Well knowledge in development of airbag restraint (plus)
• Well knowledge with PC and application programs
• English knowledge, fluency in both written and spoken, as interface are mostly  external and international
• Ability to delegate work
• Able to work under different cultures / big challenges
• JOEM experience like Honda/NISSAN etc
• Open to adjust himself or herself to changes
• Japanese is preferred

Education and Experience:

Educational:                   

• Bachelors/ Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Mechanics, Vehicle Technology, or equivalent majors.

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years experience in development at automobile supplier industry, minimum 8 years management position
• Multi-international company experience would be plus
